CAP – Programme for child abuse prevention is a primary prevention programme containing workshops for children and presentation for parents and school personnel. The aim of the programme is to present to children, in a way appropriate to their age, how to recognize potentially dangerous situations and how to respond to them. Programme emphasizes self-confident behaviour, the importance of peers' help, communication skills and reporting skills as a prevention strategy.
CAP is a programme of International Center for Assault Prevention, New Jersey, USA. It has been carried out in Slovenia since 1998. In earlier years the carrier of the CAP project in Slovenia used to be Center for Prevention Activities, and since 2004 it has been Society Ključ – Center for Fight Against Trafficking in Human Beings.
