Curative projects
Prevention is not enough. Victims of trafficking in human beings need proper assistance. They should be saved from the threatning situation and given a proper accomodation, psychosocial help and at least basic necessities for life. They should be allowed a reflection period.
Different conventions speak of what the victims should be provided. The Council of Europe Convention on action against trafficking in human beings, adopted in May 2005, assigns very explicit tasks to the signatories. Beside typical ways of help, victims have the right to legal aid and advice, health assistance, and to claim indemnification from traffickers; they should be also ensured sufficient security.
Society Ključ has gone much further, till the end, actually. We can offer the victim also a social and labour (re)integration programme.
