Who are the victims?
Anyone, regardless of sex, age, education, profession, nationality,
residence, wishes, can become a victim of trafficking in human beings.
It is true that specific circumstances in which an individual finds
himself/herself, can contribute to the fact that a person becomes more
vulnerable and prompt to traps of THB.

JASMINA… |

Life brought her to Slovenia. She was without legal status. She
responded to a newspaper ad and got employed as a phone operator. Her
boss told her she should perform services of an erotic masseuse. So she
began to massage and soon afterwards she was expected to prostitute. She
refused to do it, but her boss didn t want to understand that. He was
the one who demanded. He became violent, he used to threaten a lot. He
beat her. She escaped. She never saw any money she earned as a phone
operator or a masseuse.

RUSLANA IN VLADIMIR… |
 |
 |
They lived in non-perspective environment. They were without any
prejudice, dreaming of getting away. An opportunity offered to them.
Slovenia was the land of promise. She would prostitute, he would protect
her. They would both make o lot of money, they would also receive
advance payment. They were transported to Slovenia, provided
accommodation in a hotel. There was no advance payment but quite some
work. They waited in vain for any regular payment. All was taken by the
boss, explaining them they have to pay transportation costs at first.
They didn t have their passports any more; they were kept by a
receptionist. They neither had any money to pay for hotel accommodation;
it was kept by their boss. They were trapped.
