About the Society Ključ
Society Ključ – Center for fight against trafficking in human beings, was founded in 2001 and is a non-governmental, non-profit, humanitarian and voluntary organisation, working in the public interest to prevent trafficking in human beings and to provide direct forms of assistance to potential and actual victims. The co-founders of the association are Katjuša Popović, Mojca Kunaver and Jurij Popov. Society Ključ was headed by Katjuša Popović until 2020.
Since 2001, we have developed a number of preventive and curative programmes in the field of raising awareness among the general and professional public and among potential and actual victims of trafficking in human beings. We are involved in the development of policies and programmes that focus on the needs of victims of trafficking, victims of forced marriages, victims of all forms of labour exploitation and persons with experience of prostitution; we also implement and develop programmes that include the above-mentioned groups of users.
Our activities are carried out in the fields of social protection, health protection and promotion, gender equality and education.
We provide emergency assistance and care to victims of trafficking, forced marriages, victims of all forms of labour exploitation and people with a history of prostitution, help them organise their return to their place of residence, and offer free counselling to potential and actual victims of trafficking in human beings, carry out health protection and health promotion activities, promote and organise their cooperation with law enforcement authorities, assist in the protection of witnesses in this field and provide support and assistance to victims in their social and labour (re)integration.
Activities are carried out in accordance with the Statute and the CODE OF ETHICAL PRINCIPLES of the Society Ključ and the Child Protection Protocol.
The Society Ključ, with the support of the Board of Directors, has been led since 2020 by Polona Kovač, President.

Since our establishment, we have provided support and assistance to over 600 potential and actual victims of human trafficking. During this time, more than 50,000 people have participated in our prevention activities.
