PATS AMIF
Between 2024 and 2026, we are continuing the activities of the project Prevention of Human Trafficking, Sexual Violence, and Support for Women (PATS), funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the budget of the Republic of Slovenia (https://evropskasredstva.si). The funds for the implementation of the project are provided as follows: 75% from AMIF (amounting to €300,000.00) and 25% from the budget of the Republic of Slovenia.
The PATS project is aimed at informing applicants for international and temporary protection about the dangers of human trafficking, gender-based and sexual violence, and at providing possible forms of support within the existing assistance system for potential and actual victims of trafficking and victims of various forms of violence in Slovenia.
The general objective of the operation is to inform and identify vulnerable groups that require special treatment. The specific objective is to identify and raise awareness among potential victims of human trafficking, sexual violence, or gender-based violence, ensure their proper support, and provide administrative assistance to the working group appointed in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures for Prevention and Response in Cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence against Persons under the International Protection Act.
The activities aimed at informing, preventing, and raising awareness about human trafficking, sexual violence, and gender-based violence include individual and group meetings with applicants for international protection (those expressing intention, applicants, and recipients), conducted in languages understood by the target group. A women’s support group is also held once a month. The project includes informational materials in 17 languages. The expected result of the operation is to inform 10,000 individuals during the project period.
In addition to the activities targeting the primary groups, professional training sessions will be conducted for staff working in accommodation centers.
The project also includes activities aimed at supporting the working group appointed under the Standard Operating Procedures for Prevention and Response in Cases of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence against Persons under the International Protection Act.
The purpose of the operation is to raise awareness among individuals—who often do not recognize the risks and consequences of human trafficking, sexual violence, and gender-based violence—and to encourage their active involvement in preventing various forms of exploitation. In addition to providing information, the implementing organization must also carry out additional activities that add value to the overall project. These may include interactive workshops, delivering information in innovative ways, group lectures, etc. These additional activities must be tailored to various groups, including applicants expressing intention, applicants for international protection, recipients of international protection, applicants for temporary protection, recipients of temporary protection, support services (e.g. security staff), and professionals working with these groups.
