PATS UNHCR
The PATS project is aimed at informing applicants for international and temporary protection about the dangers of human trafficking, gender-based and sexual violence, and providing possible forms of support within the existing assistance system for potential and actual victims of trafficking and victims of various forms of violence in Slovenia.
Refugees and asylum seekers are particularly vulnerable to exploitation, as they are often in a country whose language they do not speak, in a difficult economic situation, and traumatized by experiences of war, poverty, and abuse encountered on their journey to Europe. For this reason, it is crucial to provide them with key information—both in individual and group sessions—about the issue itself and the different self-protection measures they can take.
The project was funded by UNHCR in 2023.
