18 October — European Anti-Trafficking Day

18 October is European Anti-Trafficking Day. This year, as every year, we want to give the day particular attention and draw attention to an issue we are grappling with — one that, in several areas and at several levels, appears to be slipping entirely out of control. Human trafficking rests on two basic premises — first, on […]

AN OPEN LETTER

AN OPEN LETTER to the general public, to professional bodies, to state institutions, to the media, to politicians of every party and to the current Government of the Republic of Slovenia. We speak out publicly only rarely, but always […]

European Anti-Trafficking Day

On Friday 18 October 2024, to mark European Anti-Trafficking Day, we organised a professional conference titled The abuse of children for prostitution in Slovenia. Our thanks again to all the speakers who kindly accepted our invitation, contributed their presentations, shared their experience with us and answered participants' […]

Children abused for prostitution live among us.

In our work with victims of human trafficking and with people who have experience of prostitution, we frequently find that they had already, before turning eighteen, sold sexual acts in exchange for money, a place to sleep, drugs or something else. At the same time, official identification of children abused for prostitution in Slovenia is almost non-existent. To find out […]

Press statement

Child trafficking is part of trafficking in human beings. In 2003 we signed a Cooperation Agreement with the General Police Directorate. Among other things, it obliges us to contact our police liaison about any suspected form of trafficking. Where we identify cases of exploitation, we follow professional working guidelines. At the government's 19th regular session […]

European Anti-Trafficking Day

Today is European Anti-Trafficking Day — an important day for everyone being exploited in one way or another, because the issue gets more attention than on other days. Sadly, at Društvo Ključ we find that despite a functioning system of help and support that lets people with experience of trafficking move to safety and recover […]
